Programs for adults with disabilities are designed to provide instruction and practice in life skills that increase independence, communication, and community integration. The courses offered promote:

    •     self-esteem,
    •     relaxation,
    •     leisure and social skills,
    •     creative art projects,
    •     movies and music activities,
    •     sports and recreation,
    •     and other activities.

GUIDELINES FOR PARTICIPATION

Project Power promotes inclusion of adults with disabilities in a variety of Community Education programs and makes accommodations to provide an enriching experience for all participants. Your cooperation in following the guidelines listed below helps to make the classes and outings run smoothly.

Registration and payment are required for all classes and outings. No walk-ins will be accepted and instructors will not take registration fees. Please complete one registration form for each participant. If additional registration forms are needed, call Julie at (763) 506-1290.
Register early – classes and outings tend to fill quickly.

•If you are not able to pay by check, you may bring cash to the Community Education office and pay for the class (es) in person. To request fee assistance, or make alternative payment arrangements, call(763)506-1279, (763) 506-1292 (TTY). For payment by credit card, fill in card number and expiration date in box provided at the bottom of the registration page.
Confirmation – You are enrolled in the class upon receipt of registration form and payment. You will be notified if the class is filled or cancelled. Waiting lists will be kept for filled classes.
Refunds – Refunds will be mailed if classes are full/cancelled, or if cancellation notice is received Five days prior to the class start date. Refunds for outings may not be available after tickets are ordered.
Please accompany participants to class locations (classrooms),to help ensure a safe, enjoyable experience for everyone. Instructors are not available to supervise participants prior to class start time,or after classes end. Please be prompt in picking up participants!
Excursions – There is a limited amount of wheelchair/accessible seating on school lift buses. It is very important that wheelchair use is noted on the registration form. Group Homes: Please, no last minute substitutions involving participants using wheelchairs. Call first to find out if wheelchair seating is available.
